Today is a beautiful day in Boston. Sunny, a bit cool, breezy...and Spring has sprung with the first spring trees popping into bloom and the daffodils and tulips bursting with color. I saw this a few weeks ago as we drove south to Texas and now I get to have Spring again.
The move went exceedingly well. The car got pickup on time, the movers slipped in right behind them. Mayflower sent some very nice men who handled our things very well. We were done and out the door by 4:30 or so. The pain of moving made so much easier leaning on the help of my friend Sarahjane. She cheerfully volunteered to help me as I could not be in two places at once...she helped to clean, and she drove me to Boston...truly a dear friend. Other friends this week greeted me for dinner out, at their homes or a restaurant. It was a beautiful week that way...yes, I shed a few tears, but I am happy! Hard not to be happy with so many doors opening in Texas...
So, my daughter waits on the other side. We are going to a very nice Mexican restaurant for lunch. Then I get to go see my soon to be new home for the very first time! I am very excited...
I board my plane in one hour...and I had an interesting morning when my overfull suitcase broke...I summoned up some packing tape from the Boston Logan Hilton. I paid overages on my 62 pound bag, I went through the wrong gate check point because it was before coffee and Jet Blue now uses three gates on the United side of the house (how dare they test me before coffee?). I realized this only AFTER buying my coffee and breakfast...good thing I am an early bird.
So, I am at my gate in a way too full terminal of people trying to get someplace. A Denver flight is boarding at my feet. I am sitting on a floor near the ONLY electric plug...and passing time on my PC. The end game is in sight...and Austin awaits.
And after 14 years, I bid Boston goodbye-- for now...
